Rex & Mariano, Soho

There are always new places opening up around London especially in Soho. Rex & Maraiano is a seafood paradise that opened on where the old Revolution Bar was. I went in there with a couple of friends the other day, and there’s no better way to visit the place than to go with a few friends. It was a relaxed and stylish setting, serving small tapas style dishes that were all so tempting and literately made you want to try them all.
The very attentive and friendly staff came over with an iPad, which you pass around the table to make orders that were sent straight to the kitchen. Our first dish came before the last person even finished ordering.

After ordering, we all took turns to wash our hands at the basin that was in the middle of the restaurant space, and raced back to the food.

The crab cakes, oysters, mussels, raw red prawns.. oh the raw prawns! They were so good, fresh, sweet and tender(and they made the cover picture).

The grilled dover sole was also sublime. Again fresh, and grilled to perfection.

After a round of incredible flavours, we couldn’t resist pressing a few more times on the iPad and ordered a few more things including another serving of the raw prawns, and of course this beautiful house mixed carpaccio.

Finally for some fashion bits, I got this white blazer from H&M that I found goes so well with many summer outfits. It’s such a good cover up piece for the summer wardrobe.
